1Ti 2:1-2 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men; For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.

I see many Christians these days are bummed about the election results and are predicting doom and gloom for our country. America is getting worse and worse, but folks it has nothing to do with our president, it has everything to do with our sin! Lets quit complaining about our country and start doing something to make it better. In the verses above, Paul is saying that we need to give thanks for all men including Kings and those that are in authority. Did you know that Nero was emperor of Rome when this was written? Nero was famous for torturing and murdering Christians in ways the horrified even the Romans. Yet Paul says that we must be thankful for our leaders!

If you truly want change, the Bible gives us the way to do it.

2Ch 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

If my people- Christians have to do this (not lost people!) will…

  1. Humble themselves
  2. Pray
  3. Seek God’s face
  4. Turn from sin

THEN we will have true change in America!
